The Island of Corfu

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

The island of Corfu in Greece is one of the most beautiful of the Greek Islands. It is one of the Ionian Islands and is very green due to the abundance of olive trees.  It has an abundance of clean beaches, ancient architecture, and idyllic villages.  The island has become a popular tourist destination and some of the resorts feature a lively party scene and nightlife.

The main city on the island is elegant town – Corfu Town.  It is a flourishing port and home to the islands main airport.  The town has over 30,000 inhabitants.  The towns buildings and architecture is renowned and has been influenced by many different civilizations including Sicilian, Venetian, French and English.  The old quarter features winding alleys and small streets.

Corfu is also an island of contrasts – peaceful relaxation and intense nightlife; bustling resorts and quiet Corfu villas; rugged beauty and safe beaches.  It really is an island that has something for everyone.

Corfu’s coastline offers some amazing scenery including views across the Mediterranean to Albania and Greece.  Corfu experiences hot dry summers but by November there are many storms.  Because the island can be very busy in the summer it is popular d8uring the months of October and May when the island is less crowded.

How to Make a Personal Injury Claim

Monday, October 27th, 2008

Often people involved in an accident do not claim compensation.  An accident claim is something you should partake in when you are involved in an accident.

If you are injured you should put in a claim for personal injury.  You should seek out a personal injury claims solicitor to help you understand the legal language.    Usually they work on a no-win , no-fee basis.  Once you put in your compensation claim it leaves you to concentrate on recovering from your injuries.

It is important that you find a solicitor that specializes in this field.  Often your family solicitor may not know all that they need to as they do not work full time on injury claims.  An injury claims lawyer will have the knowledge to maximize your chance of success with your claim.

The main thing with a personal injury claim is to do it immediately.  Therefore once you are involved in an accident I would advise you to seek out a personal injury claim solicitor as soon as possible.

Ibiza Restaurants

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

Ibiza is a popular tourist destination in the Spanish Balearic Islands. The island has much to offer tourists including a vibrant nightlife scene, beautiful beaches and wonderful hotels and restaurants.

Two factors strongly influence the eating experience in Ibiza – Spanish cuisine and access to fresh seafood. Ibiza restaurants feature dishes that are a combination of these two themes. Also Spanish drinks such as Hierbas Ibicencas, Frígola, Horchatas, and Sangria are well worth trying.

Many restaurants (and those found in Ibiza boutique hotels) feature the abundant local seafood. This includes local favorites such as Bacalao, Merluza, Emperador, Raya, Mero, Lenguado, Rodaballo as well as local lobster. Parrillada de Pescado is a good way to try out these fish as it literarly means a mixed grill of different fishes. Also popular with locals is the fish stew Zarzuela. Seafood can also be used in the great Spanish dish – the Paella.
