Daughter Inspired by Next Day Blinds

Tuesday, April 29th, 2008

My mother is getting older and I try to make her life as easy as possible. One of the things that I have done for her is to make things that hurt the arthritis in her hands easier for her to maneuver.

I got her motorized window blinds from Next Day Blinds. This seems to help her because she no longer has to grip the string on her vertical blinds, squeeze and pull. This task sounds easy but for someone with this painful affliction, it can be very painful.

I also did some interior decorating on the rest of her house all the while making it safer for her. I put area rugs down throughout the house and I made sure that they won’t slip.

I got some of my decorating ideas when I spoke with the people from Next Day Blinds. For the bedroom interior design I got new window treatments that compliment her bedspread.

I think that overall these small changes will make her life easier and her house prettier.

Maps of Europe Tell Visitor’s Preference

Monday, April 14th, 2008

I have often longed to visit Europe. There are many countries that I would like to go to but I would most like to visit Bulgaria, Greece and Poland. I wouldn’t complain if I got to go to Europe and didn’t visit those places. I just want to see them more than others.

I have a map of Bulgaria with the towns that I would have to see circled. Sofia, the capital, has beautiful attractions that one should not miss. Attractions such as the Alexander Nevsky Catherdral draw thousands of tourists every year.

I would also like to visit Greece. My map of Greece has Athens circled on it with notes to visit the site of the 2004 Olympics. There is a lot of history there and in Poland.

My map of Poland has Warsaw, the capital, circled. They lost over 6 million people in World War II and I think that if I were ever able to visit that country, I would want to pay homage to the vicitims.

French Open News Directs Attention More at Men’s Singles

Friday, April 11th, 2008

This year’s French Open is sure to be as exciting as last year’s. Rafael Nadal has won the men’s singles for 3straight years. He defeated Roger Federer last year and though these 2 men will not say that they have a rivalry, it appears that 2008 might prove otherwise.

Last year’s French Open news was surprisingly quiet about the women’s singles. Justine Henin-Hardenne was also a 3 time winner when she defeated Ana Ivanovic. This competition does not seem to have the same “rivalry” aspect that the men’s does.

No matter who wins, this competition on the clay courts is sure to show who is the best player on this type of court.

Flea Market Helps with Tables; Not Area Rugs

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

I am building a house and I do not have enough stuff to fill it. I need a new couch and new coffee and end tables. I will also need blinds for all of the rooms, a modern area rug for the living room and a new dining room table.

Finding discount area rugs will help me save a lot of money. I also think that if I have the blinds cut to size instead of ordering them custom cut, I’ll be able to save a lot of money that way.

I’m thinking about getting some old but sturdy tables from the flea market and painting them to look distressed but new. I won’t be getting anything else there though.

Dale Carnegie Training Offered In North Dakota, Minneapolis and All Over

Wednesday, April 9th, 2008

Many people have tried to leave their mark on this world throughout history. However, few actually do and those that do don’t necessarily influence many people. Dale Carnegie was a person that did leave a mark–and a huge mark at that.

In fact, his book How to Win Friends and Influence People  is still very popular today though it was publishing in 1936. His legacy is known the world over. Many areas have branches that offer courses like “sales training Minneapolis” and “leadership training Minneapolis.” You can also find courses like “presentation skills in North Dakota” offered.

While some are able to leave their mark on this world, few have been able to with the class and intelligence of Dale Carnegie.
